The show recreated these extinct species using the combined use of animatronics and computer-generated imagery, which were merged into with live action recordings shot in different places. The series digs into the life of the ancient animals living in the Mesoxoic Era, depicting dinosaurs and the other species of that time in the style of a nature documentary. The series was created by Tim Haines and was produced by the BBC.
